Each year the UK MOD spends around £16 billion on a wide range of goods and services to equip and support the Armed Forces and to meet defence estate management requirements.
During 2007-08 the MOD placed around 26,000 new contracts, creating a wealth of commercial opportunities for organisations able to facilitate the Department’s requirements. As the MOD continues to shape its procurement strategy, so it continues to focus on the visibility of commercial opportunities, promoting transparency between the MOD, Prime Contractors and first and second tier contractors.
